A general interest resource, General OneFile, provides periodical and news information for researchers at all levels on most topics. Content includes more than 12,000 titles in all, with nearly 30 years of coverage. Of these, more than 7,800 are full-text magazine/journal titles, 3,600 are refereed journals, and hundreds are newspapers from across the country and the world—including the full-text of the New York Times from 1985 to the present, updated daily.
This database contains more than 14,000 titles, including more than 9,000 peer-reviewed journals and more than 6,000 in full-text. It supports academic research with strong coverage of hard sciences, medicine, engineering and business. It also includes full-text of periodicals covered in major bibliographic resources such as CINAHL(nursing), BIOSIS, MLS(language/literature), PsycInfo, ERIC(education), EconLit, RILM (music) and others.
As its name implies, this database showcases opinion pieces and position essays –backed with factual data to reinforce reasoning. It’s a great resource for developing and exercising critical thinking skills, and understanding many sides of current events and controversial issues. Besides text articles, this database includes multimedia files, both audio and video, as well as images, maps and graphics. It’s a great resource for students, and all citizens.
This database is a user-friendly business tool that delivers authoritative company and industry information, articles, and statistical data. The articles (from more than 3,900 full-text periodicals) are included in the catalog, and industry, directory, or tabular information can be searched—and interactive charts created– from within the interface once an e-Resource record is opened.

…and so much more!!
Full-text newspaper articles from newspapers across the country and around the world, including the New York Times, the New York Post, The Daily News, the Albany Times Union and other newspapers. It includes more than 1,100 major U.S. regional, national and local newspapers along with international titles!
It also includes radio and TV broadcasts and podcasts with transcriptions.
This database is more along the academic vein, as its name implies, so a search for “diabetes and cinnamon”, for example, will give you results detailing scientific studies first and you have to select “magazines’ as your source for more non-professional information. It’s a wonderful source for health professionals. Articles in this database cover all aspects of health and disease for the time period from 1980 until present. The coverage includes both academic titles, and more consumer-friendly titles from journals in the standard Health Reference Center. In addition, there are files in other media types, such as podcasts and video files, for listening and viewing, and there are also digital texts from reference books. As with other Gale databases, bibliographic entries are automatically generated in a variety of popular formats, making it handy for research assignments.
